    Hello, good night.

I'd be really grateful if anybody could give me some pointers:
My grandfather died a while ago, and among his things there was his personal watch, a polerouter automatic. It is stopped; when picked up it starts, but has a sticking point at 17:00 or so.

I'm not overtly attached to this watch - I kept other mementos from my grandfather which have more significance for me.

Can anybody help me identifying this model? Can it be repaired/bring back to its former glory? Would it be cost-effective? What would it be its value, in its condition and repaired? I looked up sold listings in ebay, but can't find this exact dial/face.

Again, many thanks for your time and any assistance.

    Here's a very similar watch in a 1968 advertisement:

One odd thing about the dial, I think the date surround piece has been replaced. Not sure what happened there. The watch looked to have been well-used and loved by your grandfather.

In strictly monetary terms, the metal bracelet on this watch might be more valuable than the watch head.

Many thanks! Do you know a good repairman for this watch? Being that it doesn't have too much value, I'd like to polish it and adjust its movement. I'm in Uruguay, so good repairmen are not to be found here.

Which half of the bracelet are you referring to? ::confused2::

    The top half, I suppose.

Didn't see that the bottom half of the bracelet is totally different.

This watch has led a bit of a rough life.

Certainly. Here's his original owner using it.
