Once I owned Speedmaster 9300, foolishly sold it and want 9*** - based chronograph again. The choice is between this https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-...ronometer-chronograph-44-25-mm-32930445101002 And this https://www.omegawatches.com/watch-...ronometer-chronograph-44-25-mm-32930445104001 Orange Why yes: fantastic legibility, joyful, looks smaller Why no: I am in my sixties, color is a bit shouting White Why yes: simply beautiful, not so youngish color Why no: already big watch looks even bigger, may be boring For the protocol, my wrist is 8", working at the office (but no suits whatsoever). Thoughts?
Orange: Why yes: fantastic legibility, joyful, looks smaller Why no: I am in my sixties, color is bit shouting White: Why yes: simply beautiful, not so youngish color Why no: already big watch looks even bigger, may be boring @Alex_TA Folks here hate links so I added the photos for you . My vote is for the white!
You’re only as old as you let yourself feel —- go orange! Looked at both recently — the black versions of the chronograph subdials are definitely easier to read. The white version truly looked huge on my wrist, but I could happily wear the black/orange.
I am going through the same process as one of these is very much on my radar as a purchase next year, at the moment I am heading in the direction of the orange hands, my initial thought was white but the orange version has crept slowly into pole position, it is that flash of colour that is appealing to me. Good luck in your quest.
If only one speedmaster, id go for the orange. If you have the moonwatch already, id go white for variety. I went for white.
Black (orange as you call it) because it is the closest dial you can get to this (yeah, yeah - OK it’s red and not orange, but you get the picture). Photo credit: Fratello Watches.
I own the white and like it a lot. I love the orange and want it but already own four big Speedmasters. I’d go orange if I were you although a bit thicker I love the blue moonphase. My favorite and most worn.
Both are very nice but I prefer the white, looks classier and I love the way it can change between stark white to silver depending on the light.
For me, the white is a nice alternative to the GSOTM for the $$$, both dials are just beautiful. That said, I really like the slate and orange over the black and orange
I got slammed a few weeks ago for a thread about the WSOTM. There are three threads on the first two pages (so still quite active) in the past few weeks asking about this very same question. Funny that. Back on topic..... I like ALL the Speedy Racing models. I have the white, but the black and gray dials are also stunning. One thing about the white racing, and I don’t know of the same applies to the other models in the racing range (don’t own them yet): the bezel whilst black ceramic, has an almost mirror like quality so in certain light and angles looks like a highly polished granite and catches the light very well. The same is not true of the GSOTM. Ive found it impossible to photography that ‘effect’ on the racing so something that has to be seen on person. Whilst the GSOTM and the white racing do look a little alike. That will only be in poor photos with flat lighting. In reality they are very distinctive. Both stunning in different ways.
