I think this is quite uncommon. I have seen a few Google images. I still have it, but a friend of mine keeps pestering me to sell it to him. I have not caved yet
Is fair to say watches from these lesser known brands are often pretty low in n numbers, but this one I only ever saw a single other the same. No longer have the watch.
This was the best watch photo I've ever taken I think.
The rarest watch I have ever owned was a one-off Omega Constellation in solid 18k white gold. Desmond did a nice blog post on it a while ago. It's with another member now after a trade last year.
Currently, it would be a full set 16750 from 1981 or a first gen Eterna Kontiki. The GMT master obviously isn't a rare watch, but the full set and condition is rare. I haven't seen more than a few of these Kontiki with date before.
This would have to be my rarest, not in dollar value but in known examples. When I found this, I believe there were three other known 2447NTs. I think that number has now grown to six...but still quite small.
This one must be quite rare, although it is hard to say, as there are no clear figures of this historic brand.
Whilst an Enicar Sherpa Graph Mark IV is fairly rare in general, the white dial versions are supposedly even more scarce as many of these where changed into the - then more popular - black dial version(s). Out of the few thousand Mark IV's made (source: https://enicar101.com/serial-reference/), very few are coming with a white dial. Or so I have been told.
This is a good thread @sennevervoort, I don’t remember a similar one on the forum before and we’re seeing a lot of interesting things. Often the “rare” watches are not the most popular or well known ones so it’s nice to get this sampling across the spectrum.
- pink 33mm tre tacche. Only one other recorded in similar condition, and only two more in much lesser condition.
- ladies tre tacche much more rare than all of the men’s references combined (one more similar one known to belong to another member here).
- LeCoultre Weems A11- only saw two for sale in 4 years.
- Eterna art deco case with highly unusual “wing lugs” (Thanks to @Tony C. for confirming that was exceptional.)
