I would spend a LOT of time doing research on line before doing anything else. When you have some real knowledge and understanding then start visiting the sales boards, stores and on line sellers and go from there.
The FS section on here is always full of interesting stuff, but eBay is still a major element in vintage Omegas, just have to take care and use paypal/CC. We've seen people taken for a ride by UK retailers for far more money than the average eBay mishap, what looks good under halogen lamps after a redial and polish and what looks bad in a crummy eBay pic with a scratched crystal can turn out to surprise you in person.
What sort of thing are you thinking about? What sort of budget?

Everybody seems to like the look of black dial Seamasters. Consequently, most of them seem to be redials by sellers taking advantage of the fad. An awful lot of black dial Omegas did not leave the factory that way. So, be very wary and ask advice here first!
