I've owned a few of their pieces and dealt with Watchco quite a few times. I'd recommend contacting them directly.

The actual SM300 re-edition with Cal 8400 should be around in the next couple of months, frankly I'd save the money and get one of those.

I have heard that you can get that kit for at least 25% off if you contact them via a their website. Have not tried it myself....Chris

Here are his replies after contacting them via their website about the Kit, minus movement...
I was talking to Rob, who Marcus passed my initial contact email onto..

"I can supply this for $AU2200, price includes GST
If you want a bracelet with the KIT, total will be $AU2600 ( price includes shipping as well. )"

"A NOS 565 will be $AU400 extra.
Regards...." .

I'd love to think that there would be a cheaper option, but as Archer states, I doubt it. It's the only Omega that appeals to me at this stage. (That I don't already have..)

Thanks M.D. for your thoughts. Everything is looking good. Australian Health system is pretty bloody good also!.

You can buy all the parts for a 565 SM300 (excluding the movement) from Cousins for around £850 excluding VAT.

This would include the case, dial, hands, case clamps, screws, stem and black date ring. You then just need to add a 565 movement and service.

I just tried the Cousin's route.. Looking for Case Number 166.0324 and parts.

Total comes to GBP1228.00, ($AUD2276) Perhaps I am missing something...??

You are missing that the case already comes complete with bezel, case back, crown, crystal etc

Oh and you need 2 case clamps and 2 screws, also I didnt see the stem, second hand and black date ring in your list 😀

The second hand is on the 166.024 page and the black date ring is on the 565 movement page

Thanks Mate. I just threw the Case number into the search, and was surprised that my search came up with the other items as well. I noted that there was no second hand mentioned, but the rest, thanks for the input. Appreciated. As mentioned earlier, this watch I have had to put on hold for a time, though one day....... In the mean time, this research is a learning curve, and I appreciate your help.

No problem. Its one of those things I keep thinking to do as well when / if I have some spare money, and something to do before Omega pull all the parts availability.

Also missing is that Cousins list one shipping method for shipment to the US, and they charge an insane premium for the shipment. 😲

Carriage is calculated by destination, value and weight.
  • TNT International - £158.54
Signature required (delivery - all countries are different from 2 to 9 working days)

This changed recently for Europe. They dropped the £19 delivery charge option and changed to the same as above but only £71 ! It seems to apply for orders above a few hundred pounds.

Up to about 600 pounds I still get the option for Royal Mail International post, its once it goes above that then it goes to the courier service only and I assume with insurance etc. I could also post to the UK and pay the VAT.

Just looked at your locations so can see you can trade VAT against postage, lucky man! In Spain, its VAT and postage, damn.

Cheers, Chris

Hi all,

I really wouldn't blame Cousins for the postage charge as unfortunately that's just the way it goes for posting outside the UK with Insurance as the good old Post Office don't insure watches for over £500 for International delivery and the Courier companies charge that silly amount of money because they know we don't have any other options so they can.

I watched a couple of the $3,500 watchco auctions, they have been accepting offers of around $2,500. I'm thinking of buying a SM300 kit from cousins for much less but the shipping is a killer at 158gbp. Let me know if anyone else in the US is interested in ordering one and splitting the freight, the shipping cost stays the same if you order multiple cases

Is that right? £850 ex VAT from Cousins for everything bar the movement? I've been back and forth with these but if that's the case (no pun), I might take a look.

Those watchco auctions are unique in that they claim to have true NOS movements. But $3500 is still a huge jump over what full builds have cost in recent months.
