I used to sell in Ebay whenever i had the need to sell something to fund a new watch, but since they raised their fees to 10% of the endprice until the limit of 2000€ i really feel a bit like beeing robbed in some way. So i am looking for other places where i can offer a watch now and then. Any experience with Chrono24 or do you just sell in the sales corner? Hope you have some advise where to go. Thanks guys
I sell them here, and one or two other watch websites, almost all the time. In the 6-ish years I've been seriously into vintage mechanical watches eBay has only gotten worse and worse for sellers.
IMHO there is a tipping point for every collector where they end up wanting to sell something. It all comes down to and/or the accumulation of knowledge creating an expanded interest in this obsession.
I'm with you on this one Fritz - a man after my own heart. I have given vintage watches as gifts, but sell them Fortunately for us, other people do think the other (strange) way.
Yeah.... Odd people out there, I was given a bag of old watches by a friend, junk he said, he was cleaning out the basement and thought I might find them interesting. I found the silver 1884 Rockford railroad pocket watch and the 1944 Omega 30T2 SC PC especially interesting.....
