Looks to me like a complete waste of time and money.

When I was little and liable to lose myself or my possessions my mum used to write my name in black marker in the back of my jacket.

Surely this a better idea?

Agree with you, this is a toy for people who had too much money. The king and the prince probably wear it once or twice before throw it into big drawer of unused watch.

Don't start me there ::facepalm1::
We have general who wore Richard Mille LE in and AP millenary public.
I also heard a politician patron who gave out luxury watches (Rolexes, Pateks, Panerais) to many of his guests. Where he got them in the first place? 😕
