Which is why my first comment was that what was shown is only the start. I do appreciate your point here, but I often see a post on a forum with a watch in one unknown position, in one unknown state of wind, at some unknown point in the servicing process, with glowing words describing the result as excellent.
Well it might be excellent and it might not be. A photo like this tells you something, but it doesn't tell you a lot really. You might very well be happy as a "pig in shit" with the results of the service, but the photo provides such little information it's really impossible to tell.
None of us know the condition of the watch when the service started, if a decision was made not to replace parts that might be worn for financial or other reasons, etc. I think saying that there is an intent to mislead is a bit much...it's just a very incomplete picture of the overall quality of the service.
