When it comes to this 176.007: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201351950368?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
There's something about the watch that is calling to me, but I want to avoid crashing into the rocks just because I was lured by the Sirens' song. I find the irony of the inscription humorous. With so many variations of this watch, I'm not sure what's correct and what isn't. Is the red lettering on the tachymetre correct? Is the red seconds hand correct? I think the $1799.00 is high and would be willing to make an offer. I'm not asking for a price recommendation, unless I'm wrong that the price is high. I really want to know about the correctness of the tachymetre's and seconds' hand color.

I do really like the stainless version with blue dial. It's on my list, but down a few behind SM300coax ti and a couple of others.

I dont know about red hand, but does look odd.

The one I saw on the internet had a gold hand but it was a solid gold watch so might be different. I think it is over priced although it looksquite clean. The fact that it has a leather strap would put me off it.

According to the vintage database, ta leather strap is what it would have come with. Of course, according to the database, it only came in stainless and we know that's incorrect.

Its more about the overall look with that combination.I think it would look better with a bracelet.
They are nice watches though and one of these is going to be my next purchase, just need to put away some money first

Red tachy is correct. The seconds hand is in correct and was not orange originally, but gold colored.

Agree that second hand is incorrect. Case is waY overpolished for me - i think these were only 20 micron gold plate to start with, so really want to be looking for a gp with no wear at all, and original stsrburst pattern on the bezel

Ps - best of luck in the fa cup next week - but on todays results, i fear the worst!

    Cheers, paul

Thanks everyone for helping avoid the rocky shore. paul, I'm hoping escaping relegation, and Sherwood, lights a fire under their arses but beating Arsenal will be a tall order.

I would rather have the plain stainless steel one.

I'm from Texas. If it's not flashy, bordering on gaudy, we don't want it. Seriously, I feel the same way but there was something about that one that that piqued my interest. Maybe there was some sort of subliminal message that elicited my Pavlovian response.

Strangely I count 5 other gold 176.007's on eBay right now with correct hands. Seems like a lot at once and one seller has two of them, 4 of the 5 are OBO. Might be a decent time to make an offer.

Surprisingly, none of those elicited the same response. Maybe it was the red seconds hand that was screwing with me, subliminally.
