When does the date jump over in a cal. 752?

Hey folks,

I've just received a beautiful example of a 166.032 from our very own @ConElPueblo , sporting a cal. 752 that runs very smoothly.

When going through the lengthy process of setting the day and the date, I noticed that the day disk jumps over at midnight, yet the date does so at exactly 5am. It's been a while since I last owned an Omega with a 752, so I was curious if any of you could tell me if it's designed to work this way (maybe for both functions not to interfere) or if it's an "issue" that I might have adressed by my watchmaker?

I'd like to point out, in all fairness, that this is not to criticize the seller in any way - he's as curious as I am, so this is for educational purposes only, not to re-negotiate or express any hard feelings.

Thanks a lot, looking forward to be enlightened!

They should change basically at the same time. This is something that can be adjusted if your watchmaker knows how.

I'll attest to the fact that both day and date can indeed flip over at midnight concurrently. A photo of mine just prior to snapping over crisply.

As mentioned by @Archer, it's not an intrinsic feature of the movement, but more reflective of how it has been adjusted. Personally, I wouldn't worry about it. Your watchmaker will sort it out at the next service.

Very few people have ever accused me of being well adjusted. The validation OF gives me is priceless, lol.馃槈

Thanks for the feedback. Doesn鈥檛 worry me one bit - actually, I sympathize with that. To me, the new day starts when I鈥檓 done sleeping, not when the clock strikes midnight. Come to think of it, I might ask him to adjust the day disk to do the same. 馃榿

It's a simple adjustment of the day finger, shown below at the red arrow:
