I've based mine on three categories, Dress, Everyday and Sport. The Speedy is my daily go-to and the other two will come with time...No pun intended. Dress: NOMOS LUX Everyday: Speedmaster Professional "Moon Watch" Sport: Seamaster Ploprof 1200 Co-Axial Master Chronometer
M'Bob, I'm sitting at my desk in my office right now and I'm litterly laughling out loud at your response! It was perfect...
Dress: Lange Datograph Everyday: Rolex 16520 Daytona Sport: Rolex Hulk Sub or BLNR (Pics stolen from Google, since I don't own all of these watches )
^ Was wondering the same thing. I'm thinking it's more fun as a purely theoretical exercise. Here's mine -- 3 legends.
Dress: Standard issue Speedy Pro Moonwatch. Everyday [including the office]: Standard issue Speedy Pro Moonwatch. Sport: Standard issue Speedy Pro Moonwatch.
I'm going to assume that this is a list of attainable grails. I only own one of the three watches on my list, and it's what would serve as my daily beater that I can wear anywhere and in any situation. My Speedy Pro: Next up is the watch that made me love watches in the first place. My biggest regret is not buying this ten years ago when prices were still very reasonable. Its simple, elegant design makes it, in my opinion, perfect. I see myself wearing it in a suit or in jeans. This is definitely the major purchase I plan on making. The Rolex Explorer 1016: Last one up is perhaps an odd choice and I've never seen one in the metal, but after reading about it in Hodinkee a few years back, this one had me at hello. The JLC Geophysic 1958:
@M'Bob That 3 birds could do with some of this Washed down with this They need a bit of meat on the bone. That would be like trying to poke a toast rack. A fry-up, a few pints, throw in a bottle of Whisky and you have my Holy Trinity.
