There are literally tons of different Speedmasters out there. What's your personal favorite if you had to pick one?
... A really difficult question.. there are so many beautiful speedmasters... you could despair if you have to choose only one .. Maybe it would be this one
My favorite Speedmaster is my [modern] Speedmaster...because it’s mine...ALL mine...and I can do all sorts of nutty stuff with it.
Well I'm a bit biased toward this brown dial 105.012-65 Speedmaster. I paid nothing for it, but it came at great price, and it's the only decent watch I own. (God knows how many times I've, shamelessly, posted photos of it on this forum... but here is another.) I think I've been trying to condense as much enjoyment of it into the last couple of years, before it gives up it's place on the 1171/633 to make way for a more practical, everyday, Speedmaster in 2019. One of my other favourites, on this forum, is another brown dial Speedmaster belonging to @oddboy. Such a cool watch with bags of character. Come on Joel... let's see it on that chunky leather strap?
I love my big co-axial Speedy with a date window. But I'm also a huge fan of the Mitsukoshi-style mods and the new Ultraman ST2.
The 105.002 for me. The silver rehaut really makes the dial pop! The design peak of the speedmaster in my humble opinion. (Let's not mind that Pre-comex 5513 cameo there )
Today, it has to be my birth year Speedy. A lovely 145.022-76 I have to admit, the Apollo-Soyuz (as @Spacefruit shared above) is right there at the top of the list...it hadn't occurred to me until just now, but the Apollo-Soyuz is a birth year for me too!
