I'm about to send this one for service, when I posted a picture of its case back, someone here made a comment that the finish was incorrect but fairly easy to fix. Can anyone post a picture of the proper finish?

At this point I would just leave it alone or look for the correct identical case back

Steve, thanks - is your recommendation because the fix will require further "grinding" making things worse?

I'm a little more concerned about how the rest of the case was buffed, destroying the sharp edges on the lugs.

Unfortunately, there's no concern or any other emotion that will undo or fix the obvious damage to the case/lugs done by such an abusive polish job. :( It's a shame because the dial is in such pristine condition and the watch keeps excellent time. :)

It really is a marvellous dial.

What are the chances of finding a doner?
