Might go for a swim in the Rolex pool after a long time out of it. Simple 16610 will do. Nothing flash, just a daily wearer to enjoy the tropics up here. Probably flip the ultramen for it..isn’t getting much wrist time.
For my wife, this De Ville: And for me, the (perhaps obvious) Speedy: I am under strict orders that she gets hers first
I collect watches vicariously through Instagram. These are all on my wishlist but I can't afford any of them
Pristine condition '58 Ranchero that I'll find at a pawn shop in the middle of the desert for $85. It's a wish list, right?
My wish list includes being stranded on an island for a few weeks with Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande with minimal clothing and plenty of food & water. Oh, and they buy me watches once we're rescued. Ariana gets me a white gold Rolex Day Date, and Selena gives me a rose gold JLC Master Calendar.
Whatever comes first of the following option: Rolex Seadweller ( Except the deepsea i would take wathever model or year i can afford) Speedmaster tropical dial ( unpolished, with bracelet, galaxy chocolate dial and completely original.....i will happily sell my soul and useless organs for that) Rolex Daytona 16523 (white dial with black subdial, sharp edges ) Gmt Master II root beer (jubilee bracelet model) Panerai 44mm left handed version.
I want something I can throw off a cliff and go eh and walk away. Probably going to end up with a swatch or a gshock.
A nice mark iv Speedmaster to go into my collection . Or a Teutonic that I would never wear. Only reason being that I think they are cool ugly.
After seeing some ST1‘s on 1171 bracelets, this! Just gives me all the right vibes. Gemini IV is the evergreen on my wishlist but I‘ll wait and see if prices continue to go down. Apart from that not much, except for the „i‘m Never going to afford/find this“ pieces like the white Gold Speedmaster LE from the 80‘s. But damn it looks so good
All of the below are under consideration, but all still need to be evaluated hands-on before any trigger pulling. Cartier Drive Extra Flat in Steel, but I would swap the blue strap with a grey strap. Never been a huge fan of Cartier or Roman numerals but this Drive model seems to work, although I am slightly concerned about how large the dial wears, looking forward to checking this one out soon. Photos below from the lovely folks at Time and Tide and Monochrome Watches. Another option would be the new Cartier Santos Dumont 2019. As a two handed dial (no jumping seconds hand) I am not super concerned about it being quartz, but the crown for me seems too ornate in the photos below from Horobox and Watchonista). Still not 100% sure about the IWC with the Spitfire reference, although the production run will not have the red Spitfire text on the dial. Photos below from Hodinkee. First one is a screen grab from a lovely video they posted on the whole IWC collection - https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/iwc-pilots-watch-spitfire-collection-introducing) The Longines Heritage Military is still on the list, but I am not sure how the polished elements in the dial will work with the artificially aged dial, and in some online photos the speckled dial looks overdone. Definitely needs a hands-on before pulling the trigger. The French site https://www.lesrhabilleurs.com/ took some great daily wear pictures, I think trying to show that the watch could work in a more casual environment. Not hugely excited for any of the Omega Speedy Apollo 11 LEs this year...whatever Omega release on the Speedy front, it will have to be very special...I am quite happy with the Speedy pair below as part of my collection
No one is more shocked (or frankly horrified) than me, as I NEVER go near a watch with a battery... but I’ve been lusting after some 80s geek chic the last few days. So if anyone has one - especially one from 1980, hit me up!
