Hi, I looking for nice watch in budget approx. 1300 euro. I found this IWC . What you think? IWC comes from privet seller. IWC - 1335 euro thanks in advance for your help!
$1,500 for an 18K gold IWC Ref 810A seems like a good buy. Not 100% convinced dial is original, but this is due to poor photography. Try to get a clearer picture. Does crown have the "fish" marking? Otherwise looks correct. gatorcpa
Um, ah! I do believe that karat mark is for 9 karat, not 18! Watch was likely made for the English market. Looks to me to be fairly "vanilla", but if you like IWC, I suppose it's okay. You are also considering an Omega? A particular one?
You are correct of course. Hard to see on these pictures. Need to get my eyes checked. Still not a bad buy if it checks out. gatorcpa
Cancuk and Gatorcpa thx for your time and advise ! I found this two: 1. 1336 euro - I'm still waiting for inside photos 2. 999 euros
Hi @rysio24, What have you found out on -all....- the watches you ask info on, yourself? As Cristos71 already pointed out earlier, 'I think it is first interesting if you provide a bit more information, what do you you think and like about this particular watch?'. I would like to add to that: what have you discovered yourself yet on this watch? Have you Googled the model and ref numbers yet? Should not be too hard A lot of us over here (I know I do) generally like people to do some research themselves too, so in that way to add to the shared knowledge on this forum. Otherwise, some people (I know I do) feel a bit like a 'grab and fly' place. Nothing wrong with that as such, but we like to think that everyone has to chip-in to strengthen the knowledge-base of this place. But others might consider this response as coming from an old git. Which might be true Good hunting! O, and btw, if you want to be sure to buy a good watch from a reliable person: look in the 'for sale' section of OF.. W
For a start, do you want a mechanical watch or a Quartz watch as you have posted a mix. A mechanical watch you will have to wind yourself or it will be automatically wound by your arm movement, but if you don't wear it for a short period, it will stop and you'll have to set it again. The watch you posted above is a Quartz watch meaning it has a battery. Maybe more practical for an everyday watch, but it's a lot less attractive to collectors who value the craft of a mechanical watch. Have a think about what having a higher-end watch means to you and it'll help narrow your choices down.
@Willem023 and @Tiny Iota many thanks for your time! I think I will focus on OF sale section Tiny lota thanks for your input, now I will be more aware what I really want ! I will look for mechanical ones! Many thanks rysio24
The number on the caseback says 1873037 whereas on the movement it says 1833177. This means that the movement and the case it comes in don't match correct? and if that is so, should something like this be a source for concern? And yes 0.375 means 9k ( did some search on this) but Im not clear as to whether this low a gold value means more likely gold filled rather than plated? Plus Im curious what those marks on the opposing lugs are, which is also on the caseback, looks a broadsword or axe, something like that.... or a fish with a lopped off tail
Besides wouldn't it be better to request for pics to show the "full" movement i.e. the rotor swung other way in 2 pics ?
That is exactly as it should be. http://moeb.on-rev.com/dyIWC/dyIWC.irev Your watch dates from about 1967. Huh? It means 37.5% fine gold, exactly what it says on the caseback. Not gold-filled, not gold-plated, but 9/24 gold. Those are Swiss hallmarks for 9K gold. They call it a "Morning Star". Hope this helps. gatorcpa
