What would have made the Trilogy absolutely perfect for you?

You've had your knee-jerk reaction, amongst the flurry and excitement of the new release.

But now you've had a chance to sleep on it, digest it, mull it over, read everyone else's opinion, and even ask your significant-other, who tends to roll her eyes no matter what you show her...(or him, Megan...calm down!)

So what would have made this something that you just couldn't pass up, a release so enticing that you started seeking out the local loan-shark for money?

    For me:
*No Trilogy on the dial, but something interesting on the back to denote the limited edition status.
*A cal. 321 for the Speedmaster. Yup- some dreams refuse to die.
*The Railmaster with a manual-wind movement. Don't crucify me, I love spinning a crown each morning.
*Updated spring-links adjacent to the clasp on the new flat-link bracelets. That would customize the fit oh so nicely.

    And you?

I'd have screamed my head off in rage and thrown things at the monitor, but would've then jumped to the phone to call my OB if the Trilogy had had the 321. That would've been so perfect (and evil, but ultimately probably a fair ask on their part) if they'd released it as a set exclusive.

I still think they need way more manual-wind offerings (SS Tresor? This boy's simple wish...) but in the same situation, where a manual-wind Railmaster alone, as an exclusive to the set would not, for me, have been enough to dig that deep into the wallet.

For me really it was just the trilogy # on the dial (tramp mark, tombstone, whatever you guys want to call it). I ordered all 3 separately instead with requested preferences on #'s. Hoping I did it early enough to line up 3 of the same to create my own matched trilogy set. The extras would have been nice.....but at the end of the day I'm wearing the watch, no the box or the leather carrier for straps/tools.

    Plexi on all 3
No silly writing on the Trilogy dial
321 would have been cool, but 861 is perfectly acceptable.

    Unequivocally agree.

I know two, very elegant young ladies, who both wear manual-wind watches. When I asked them if they found it oppressive winding them every day, they both said the same thing: "No; I look forward to it. It's part of my routine."

I think watch manufacturers underestimate that in an uber-technological world, people will get increasing satisfaction participating in whatever mechanical objects we still have available to interact with.

I'm aware. And I think Omega is starting to get carried away with the pricing on these things. I suppose for limited edition pieces ~$7,000 per watch makes sense from their perspective... but I don't have to like it. ;)

No extra text, no faux lume, a little more brush and less polish, bracelet evenly brushed, no (PCL or PSL)

Basically make three honest watches that don't try too hard...Because these ones DO try too hard.

    - No dial Trilogy numbering
    - All three have hesalite (where as regular LEs can have the sapphire)
    - All three are manual wind
    - The Speedy has the 321
    - Instead of faux patina, bring back Tritium for the lulz

That would elevate the Trilogy set and they could even charge more for it.

I think it was in the Hodinkee video where the Omega rep said that the individual watches will also come with a single NATO and a single leather strap (where Trilogy gets all six straps total) and the strap tool. Not clear though which colors go with which watch...

    All wishes from above PLUS:

All three watches with their original calibers, BUT in amagnetic versions!
That would be the sensation. Omega has the materials at hand.

My general idea is this: Omega should reintroduce amagnetic versions of calibers which are worth the effort (say, the 321, or at least the 1861).

So why not pimp the last remaining lever escapement calibers in Omega's production and put silicon balance spring, nivagauss balance wheel etc etc in it? Then they would have the full line >15000 Gauss, including the iconic Professional "Moonwatch". METAS certification of course would not be possible for the "9861" because precision cannot be achieved but: who cares?
