The front has been shown here before, but not the interesting back. Back when men wore vests and ties to work in the factory, it was popular to have your initials engraved on the back of your pocketwatch. I bought this a few years ago in what looked like unworn condition, any scratches on it are my own doing (whats the point of having it if you're not going to wear it!) Anyway, the back has this very deeply hand engraved piece of artwork.... five bucks says somebody got his customer's initials wrong and had to bodge the case back so he could sell the watch. From the condition it was in when I got it, maybe it never did sell.... 1928 Hamilton 922..... Mmmmmmm, motorbarrel!
show off! (Oooooo...... thats pretty, nice photography by the way.) but wasn't that what the 922s were all about? "Just how good a watch can we make?" Patek..... PAH! Gimme a nice Hamilton any day!
Thanks, Fritz and Pvt-Public I always like a chance to show this one off Your two are fine examples, too.....not many 922's made or survived intact. Cases got melted. Yes, Hamilton was at the very top of their game with these Masterpieces(922). Only the best of their best got to build these, hand carving each case as necessary. Mine is accurate as h*ll, too.
