    Hi guys,

I came across this curious caseback on a Compax. Dial, movement and crown are signed UG. Serial is six-digit.

    Any theories?

    Repurposing a cancelled GP order?

What's the case reference number? Perhaps that will shed light on whether this was originally meant to be delivered to GP.

Case ref. 22449, stamped on the inside of caseback, which the case indeed is.

The reference corresponds to a UG reference

Well, considering that UG made many of GP's range (mostly UG's re-labelled GP even sharing model numbers), it is feasible that a case back got mixed up somehow and ended up being stamped with both logos. I suppose quality control should have picked that up! Pretty cool and rare I would say but it not necessarily make the watch more valuable.

I don't have that in the database but according to Sala, it is properly a UG (the GPs having different case references). Someone probably miscounted the number of cases and casebacks and grabbed a caseback from the GP box to complete the watch. :cautious:
