What watch goes best with gray hair?

Just joking, kidding on the square as we used to call it. A funny lead-in to a true statement.

Omegaforums is huge, that is both good and bad.
What started out as a smaller collector's forum of serious watch nerds exchanging technical data, insight and observations, OF has grown and grown.

We now have collector's, acquirer's, brand fanboy's, dealers, social butterflies, trolls, car-boot enthusiasts, garage sale aficionados, Craig's list surfers, flippers, drive-by ebayers and every niece, nephew, grandson, granddaughter and estate sale shopper on the face of the Earth.
That is just the list of honest people.

Still, it's Omegaforums, not "old-fart collector watch-nerds forum" . What do we do?

The knowledge, expertise and advice that has led to this growth is being driven away by the complexity of the motives of the huddled, aforementioned masses.

Recently, I mentioned to a newer member that a post was repetitive, off-focus and perhaps cluttered the true meaning of the forum.

    How was he to know?

I don't want to see the learned cadre split off or lose interest, or in my case (as an old-fart), give up trying to navigate.

How do we discriminate the "What watch goes best with gray hair" dude from the "Is the Chronomaddux list of movement dates more accurate than Omega's"?
"Does this strap make my ass look big" from the "Base 1000 vs. traditional bezel"?

I love the social generation but I am not part of it. It's not why I'm here. I'm here to collect watches.

Actually, I'm on holiday and have to be quiet while the Queen is resting!
When I get home this will all fade.

    Can we coexist?

On a serious note, the 145.020 Soccer Timer on Omega Shark Mesh is the best looking watch for gray hair.
    All the Lady's have confirmed.

Too monochromatic, the touch of color of the 145.020 is the true nuts.

I think your post count over the last couple of years answers your question.

And to match grey hair, you need a grey dial.

If you have grey hair, or are otherwise wishing there was a way to forestall old age, then here is the watch for you. You will note that the dial reads sdrawkcab, but that is not the whole story. The watch RUNS sdrawkcab! With this watch, you have 48-hours in a day. At the end of a day, you are (speaking figuratively), one day younger. A new look at turning back the clock. A number of years ago, I wondered if there was a way to convert a mechanical watch to run sdrawkcab. Proof that it is possible.

You Aussie's have read too many Zane "Grey" dime novels. It's gray dadgummit!

    Actually, both are correct.

In my opinion OF is primarily an informational forum, and not a 'mainly social' forum. An occasional OT thread is okay, but seeing 100 versions of the same OT thread, with most being started by new forum members bringing over WUS tendencies, results in a lot of threads to ignore. It just seems like some new members who have spent a lot of time of forums that have high noise levels jump right in and start identical types of threads here.

...that being said, please sell me that soccer timer

No more silly talk of watches matched with automobiles please.

But the study of hairology and horology are obviously more closely related. ;)

Apparently, this is an example of a gray-haired person's watch:

Funny as I was only filling in a pass for a upcoming work trip to the US.

Hair colour  no salt and pepper

Had to pick white  no Bronzed Aussie

Weight in pounds  that makes you feel a lot heavier ( not as heavy as last time I helicoptered out to a oil rig and they weighed me and my bag together )

I have learned a ton from this site and met some great folks. I am a younger old fart but I still have hair, unlike my brothers, and it is grey. I am retiring soon and hope to have more time to post learned articles here. This hope depends however on my striking out as an old fart consultant. As far as the WUS stuff .. well it can’t be helped I guess. I still love the pets, booze and music threads. I love hearing about what folks are up to and what they are wearing. Of course I love a good “Is this real” debate and celebrating someone’s latest catch.
