So I just changed the strap out on my Squale 1521 to a tan leather. I don't go looking for compliments on any of my time pieces, but I notice that this one catches people eye the most. Even more than any of my higher end pieces. So out of curiosity, what watch do you guys wear that get's you the most compliments?
Love the blue of that dial/bezel with that strap! I certainly would say something. I would say that it's a tie between my zodiac sea wolf reissue and my Benrus. I think the zodiac because the flash of red and the Benrus because the lugs look very antique-y and stands out compared to my other modern attire/EDC items. Pics of course
Mainly the Daytona, the one I've had the most hate on is the A386 El Primero which Trev can't stand and my sister in law said looked "a bit cheap and tacky". But I guess that's because it's kind of colourful and due to her not having seen the Netaff era Zeniths to compare too. Next after the Daytona was the Gemini 4 LE, a lot of people noticed and liked that.
In a way I would actually prefer that, I'm not big on attention. Just like many people here I buy watches for me and not to impress others.
Same here. This one has been a big hit at a few GTGs though, and I believe has launched a few searches
Most of my watches my family/friends will tell me look old and out dated. And would never pay nearly as much as I do for them. This is the only watch I have that anyone ever seems to notice and the one I wear the least. And this my wifes least favorite. She says it looks ruined.
As far as actual compliments go, I've only had a few people notice and comment on: Otherwise, it's only family, friends, and my staff stating "You got another watch??!!"
This one when worn in these abnormal configurations... This one when worn in a normal configuration...
my Tin Tin. Then again, it is really the only one that has ever really been noticed, except for two other PO owners/ wearers who I had meetings with while I had my PO on. Basically only my new watches have been noticed, and the '67 speedmaster flies fully under the radar.
Usually it's the Seiko skx007 that gets all the love. A lot of watch guys get all nostalgic commenting how the had one and loved it.
