Received my very first Longines watch from Sweden today, from 1953.
It's a Longines Quadrant dial 6262 caliber 12.28Z.

The watch is even more beautiful than in the sales advertisements, so I am very pleased with it.

Welcome to the Club! Very attractive piece you got there.
Enjoy it and wear it in good health... And time to look for your second Longines 😀

The sales ad said the caliber was 12.28Z, but I've examined it under a microscope, and it says 12.68Z.
And the year of manufacture was supposed to be 1953, but I don't think that's correct either. My research suggests it's closer to 1956.
That's why I've requested an archive extract and am awaiting the results.

Looks very nice and original. Let us know when the extract arrives👍

Not actually on my wrist. If it was mine, I’d dump that gordawful Fix-OxFlex bracelet, but I serviced it for a friend, and he likes it like this. The profile of the case might indicate this is a “driver’s” watch. Case and case back are 14 karat gold. Movement is a 17-jewel 8LN.In case you eagle eyes take note, the regulator is off centre. I’ve had to fuss with this one to get it to within two minutes per day. I still have to add more weight to the balance wheel to bing it to a better rate. In this condition, with the 14-karat gold case, this would be a premium collectible.
