12.68Z - 1937 "...For your information, Longines did produced dials with the name of the retailer on their request, such as Harrods, Turler, Cuervo y Sobrinos, … The two last names are more common but Harrods is more rare (we only saw one watch with the name Harrods on it)... One of my 30L’s. Purchased with some advance planning during a visit to Italy a few years back (pre-child). Was told original and Longines archive seems to back it up. Have always assumed redial given absolutely pristine dial for a mid-sixties watch, but at price I paid, was fine with that. Have never seen a dial with no markers at 3,6,9,12. Usually at least an applied bar or something. The crosshair does just fine for me. Either way, made sure to get Italian shell cordovan strap from @jankoxxx .
If like everything else from Harrod’s, probably doubles the value (cost). . Another great watch from @bubba48 .
I’m wearing this one today that I hadn’t worn in awhile, since a very cool ‘linen/texture’ thread got started a couple a days ago: 1961 cal. 290
Studying it throug a loupe it looks like the top coating has shrunken and the dark "lines" appears to be where the cracks first started. Moist and/or radium is my theory.
Pondering this purchase.... It has all Longines markings, with a crispy dial. Expensive but unique...
My grandfathers gold Longines. I don’t know much about it since I didn’t find it until 35 years after his passing. It’s from the mid to late 40s I believe.
