Hey all-

A while back I won an auction for a 165.014, in which I really wanted the bracelet. I've finally gotten around to figuring out what to do with the watch itself. It's in pretty bad shape as you can see. Bezel is wrong, Dial is terribly relumed, hands are spotting etc. etc.

Is it worth trying to restore? Or should I just throw it back on ebay and let someone buy it for parts?

 

why not get it relumed properly and see how it looks? It would be a lot nicer with a better relume in this case - maybe even not horrible. You might even like it. Shame about the bezel though. You could see if you could get an aldo one done, but well... not so easy.

Funny to see the over ambitious relume job, they even put lume in the numerals, which they really didn't have to.

I think it would look considerably better with a more correct relume done.

IMHO, @TNTwatch is correct. Dial is missing the "300". To me, looks like a relume of an aftermarket dial.
