So, after realising I hadn't logged in to the Omega site after reserving my new Ultraman #0543 at 12:06 Swiss time I tried to start again, doh. Too late.

Got me thinking about an alternative use of $5k, watch or otherwise? Any ideas?

Get on the list, I'm guessing loads will drop out as soon as they realise there isn't profit to be made. For certain way more speculators this time and I think delivery will be handled much faster this time too. Add to this the higher price and I can't see it selling much if at all above retail. I really think the reserve list will be getting alot of calls so if you really like the ultraman, wait it out for now.

Agree, and good point about a quicker delivery. People keep saying it's sold out. It's not sold out as no money has changed hands. If the first 100 hit the market and and don't move for profit, expect a lot of reservations to be canceled by flippers.

I thought it was double? The list price from Omega was around US $7,000 and this eBay listing is for US $14,000.

Give me $5k and I will spend it on:

a) learning to fly a glider

b) a huge quantity of Haribo

c) 2 new pairs of birkenstocks, a couple of new caps, some shorts and t-shirts that I have my eye on.... and a huge quantity of Haribo.

Or you could just spend it on anything other than the Ultraman... there are so many options.

But you should probably just give it to me.

Buy a new Seamaster 300 M Diver, they are under $5k, and will be out roughly same time as the ST2.
