I bought a '67 145.012 Speedy but it had an 1171 bracelet. So I bought a 1039 bracelet but I wanted a JB Champion, too. So I bought a JB Champion with horns. Then I had to have a calendar for the JB so I bought that. This is getting stupid. Once my wife finds out, I'm going to have some splainin' to do.

Not much of a club really. Dennisthemenace and maybe two other members besides you have confessed to not liking Speedmasters.

I should say I don't dislike the watch. I don't like it either. It's just another watch. When I tried on a few years ago the only reaction was "meh". What I dislike is the nutso Fan Boys that worship at the Speedmaster altar, believing the sun rises and sets on the Moonwatch. They turn everything, even common subjects, into Speedmaster discussions.

I have similar feelings: I own one, it's ok, but I definitely use it less in rotation than I had thought.

On the other hand I have a Rolex sub and I find that for me it punches over its weight class in terms of how often I use it... For me it really is the ultimate "never wrong"watch. But then again I live at a place where I see probably 20 subs per YEAR.

 

I think my biggest problem is I haven't decided whether I like it enough to keep it yet. It's in getting serviced and I'm still buying bits for it.

 

Buying a bunch of bracelets is cheaper then buying a bunch of watches.

One member can spell out Omega Forums with his speedys. Another member had most all his speedys on 4-5s flights of stairs. And that is just a few of the hoarders here. There are many, but I don't know exactly how many members have hoarder sub titles, nor I do know the number of Speedmasters needed to earn it.

At a recent get together one member brought a suitcase full of speedys, and even at that he does not have the hoarder sub title.
