I'm always interested in the variances in opinions here when cost of service comes up. Scenarios:

Professional Watchmaker with/without a brick and mortar shop. Major metropolitan area.

    Let's go with three watches:

    Time Only
    321 Speedmaster
Multiple Complications eg UG Tri Compax

All have not been serviced in some time and are in need of full disassembly possibly some new parts.

    No polish/dial work.

Interested in what folks are paying and what those of you who are professional watchmakers charge.

    Thanks

Here in Lisbon, I pay between €70.00 to around €100.00 for a time-only service. Mido Multicenterchono around €125.

It is certainly possible to pay much more here, but the prices above are what I have been paying for competent service, including inexpensive parts such as mainsprings or crystals, etc.

For blinding contrast, I paid around €800 to have a vintage IWC Ingenieur serviced in Switzerland not long ago!

Certainly more than a hundred Euros for a 321 Speedmaster?

In my experience (U.S), from a certified & qualified watchmaker who does a full C.O.A. (clean, oil, adjust). This includes the watch movement being completely disassembled. The disassembled movement cleaned using agitation plus ultrasonic action. A new mainspring being installed. The movement is then re-assembled and lubricated using Mobeous lubricants. Crystal replaced.

    Chronograph Movement: $275 - $350 (average)
    non-Chronograph: $175 - $225 (average)

In my experience, the above would not include restoration work, case polishing, etc.

I'm yet to get a quote that low for an 861 here in the UK...

Omega AD north of Boston quoted $700 each for my 3570 and my wife's ladies speedmaster with an omega 3304 movement.

Respected vintage shop in Boston quoted $800-$850 for both. Dropping them off next week :)

Independent watchmaker in Boston charged me $55 for a vintage Hamilton. Same as a guy online who I like better.

Online Accutron specialists charge around $175 -$200 plus parts ( which are always needed it seems )

Another local guy quoted me $300 for my grandmothers vintage ladies bulova with a 9 month wait. Super nice guy. I think he just charges crazy prices because he has so much work.
