    Hi Rmanz,

At a first quick glance this one should be a 1162/173 Omega bracelet and was fitted to (for instance) the Seamaster 300F Hummer Diver (Ref. 198.0016), the SM Chrono Ref. 145.0014 or the Mark II (145.0034) back in the early 70th.

Not original for the Speedy since there would be at least 633ish endlinks have been installed. Same with the 1162ish reference for the bracelet itself, there should be a 1171 bracelet in place instead (pending on the YOB).

Could you show a picture of the hallmark inside and from the Omega logo outside the clasp?

    Cheers,

    Winny

Shooting from the hip I'm going to guess 145.022 with service hands and bezel. The dial appears to have a step and the lume is quite aged, so it may be a -69 or -71. Bracelet not original or even correct. What is the asking price?

Thank you for all your replies, I asked the seller for more pictures.
The price is extremely low, at 1200 usd.

You're right, price is (too) far away from what seller are asking these days. Perhaps a reason for you to hear your alarm bells ringing?

Thank you guwipa, I have the option to buy the watch in person.
Do you think it is still a bad idea, or a good buy?

It sounds like a scam to me, but there's no harm in following up and asking for more information. Just be careful.

    Rmanz,

Even in consideration of the @Dan S observations this (head only) would be a great deal since comparable pieces would have been traded for more the double sum than yours. But as I said, no goforit from my side because it seems too unrealistic imho.

Seller used to have done some proper research before selling such item and should know what he has in hand there.

I'am pretty sure you will see more opinions in that direction from other fellow members.

Ask to meet the seller at your local police station. If they agree, could be a valid seller, and then you'd just have to assess the authenticity of the watch and other parts. If they immediately dont, or never reply back, likely was a scam attempt.
