I recently purchased what I had believed to be an 1171 novalink bracelet (labeled as such inside the clasp). I purchased a pair of 633 endlinks to get it on a Speedmaster and... well they didn’t fit.

Pulled out another 1171 I own and found this bracelet is not the same ::facepalm2:: so now I am curious what I have? Is it just a Franken bracelet?

    Thanks for the help!

Pretty sure there are 2 widths on the 1171. Search around the forum pretty sure this has been discussed somewhere already

Would that also result in different center link widths? Any idea what end link would work (633 is a no go). Ran a couple searches and haven’t discovered it yet.

I thought that it could be that with a different buckle? I’ll look again at a FS post and see if it has the same center link width.

Centre link is 9.3, and fit my 633s

I suppose its possible your 1171 clasp was fitted to a different bracelet.

Does it have the spring bar system to remove links? Mine does

I’ll check out the link. Thanks for the lead. I’m still thinking it can’t be an 1171 - but hopefully I get ‘er figured out.

Thanks for chasing down this lead. I got it read, but unfortunately no one ever answered the question.

At this point I guess I can look for end links to fit a 10mm center link or file down the center link (not really my cup of tea).

My search has led me to this thread as well:
    https://omegaforums.net/threads/omega-novolink-1171-bracelet-which-endlinks.64366/

Clearly this is not just some cobbled together bracelet as others have shared the same issue.

Additionally I checked out the master bracelet thread and believe I can get endlinks for this to work on my Speedmaster. The buckle looks like an 1175 and shares the similar center link. Thanks to the graph at the bottom of the page I believe I need a pair of 47s or 640s.

    https://omegaforums.net/threads/fro...ge-seamaster-and-speedmaster-bracelets.45883/

The buckles are clearly different - and the bracelet in question has the same measurement and clasp of the 1175 - now the hunt for proper endlinks... Anyone have anything?

I've seen this style bracelet offered in an old catalog (of course I can't find it on the web now) for the Seamaster c1967 which has18mm lugs. It was shown under a pic of the Speedmaster companion (which I have, and was looking up period bracelets which is why I remember seeing it). This is possibly that bracelet, not sure what endlinks it took though.

@JwRosenthal - I currently have generic links that are 18mm wide, so that would make a lot of sense.

My hope is that I can find some 20mm wide endlinks and use it on a Speedmaster. I don’t see any reason why it couldn’t work with the larger links.

If I am unsuccessful, I’ll reach out to you. Maybe you’ll want it for your companion?

If it comes to that, I'm happy to have a chat.

I'm with you on mod'ing a vintage bracelet, not worth messing up a piece of historic kit for one's own selfish reasons, just get the right parts.
You may want to see if there are any aftermarket bracelets that use similar strait end links. I had a modern Seamaster bracelet which was useless on my vintage watches and a buddy of mine had a similar styled Made in China bracelet with strait end links. He did a little fitting on the endlinks *not touching the bracelet end) and it is now a perfect strait 20 for any of my 20mm Omega's and looks killer.

    I have a
These are my (very) rough notes on the endlinks which go with the 1171, 1171/1 and 1171(novalink), and their respective sizes. I hope it is of some use to you.

I knew is was a matter of time before the hair on the back of Lucas's neck was standing up and he knew there was a bracelet question out there.

Sorry guys for resurrecting a old thread. I've bought a Seamaster Cosmic 2000 166.0128 with what looks like to be a novolink 1171 bracelet with 676 end links. I want to get this bracelet on my modern speedmaster. I understand I could try the 633's. But are there any other options? What would work? And is it indeed a novolink?

    Hi,

I still am not sure that I have a full grasp on the (at least 3) different types of 1171, but happy to try to help.

Can you let me know the following:

    1) The reference of the Speedmaster you want to put the bracelet on

    2) The measurement of the last link before the endlink of the bracelet

    3) The measurement of the link next to the clasp

What is the lug width on the Speedmaster you want to put it on? I think a 677 should work, subject to the above information

Edit: have you just tried putting the bracelet on the watch in question? If so, could you send a picture for my reference to see how it fits?

I wanted to buy the correct end links and then take the watches to a watchmaker for a bracelet swap.
