Hi all - just curious if anybody knows what movement is housed in the 2220.80, 2500c or d? I'm looking at picking one up but I'm not as familiar with this transitional model. Thanks!

I'm pretty sure mine is a 2500C. I'm not too sure the 2500D was used in the 2220.80.

More likely the D was used in the next gen with the no wave ceramic but someone more knowledgeable than me can correct any wrong info.

These were made with both C and D generation. If IIRC, the 2500D date wheel is slightly different,.with the C version having a straight "1" while the "1" on the D versions have the hook on the number. At least that's one way to tell without actually looking at the movement.

The first ~5 years of the coax SMP used version C, the D version was used at most a year or so AFAIK. As such you have a much higher chance of getting a C really, same with the contemporary Planet Ocean. The next model the SMPc was launched with the D spec so if it matters all that much to you maybe look there. There is a serial cut off you can use (it is around 85m with the PO) but I'm not certain of it with the SMP. It may well be stated on here somewhere if you search. Date wise you see the D spec on ~2011 onwards watches.
