    To my eyes, it looks like a box made for jewellery. If I'm not mistaken, that's a ring holder that's sticking out.

    Nope. That's the Top Pad 'tang', it allows you to to lift the pad and reveal the watch cushion underneath.
    Definitely a watch box.

    It was around 1999.

    Please can anyone out there help? on the subject of the correct inventory, as a most recent Omega extract has confirmed I have a 1976 145.022 that started life in Norway but the extract states it came with a Corfam strap, so can anyone educate me as to where I could get this strap form (not a copy ideally) and what style of box would it have had?

    Just found the same box on eBay from Australia, looks like it's for a Speedie, and 2 more from Japan, all selling as watch boxes.
