    Hi all,

Out of the heritage of my grandfather this Seamaster was given to me. I cannot find the year/calibre etc. anywhere online. Does anybody have some information on this watch?

I intend to wear it. The old vintage strap is gone. I think I will replace this one with a nice Alligator strap. Ideas on the colour are also welcome.

    Thanks in advance!!

Looks to me that the dial has been refinished. You find the ref. number inside the caseback. Could you post some more pictures?

It probably is an Omega, but it is a really poorly refinished dial.

I'm going to guess that it's a redial. It might have a cal. 343 (subseconds), if it's really a chronometer, but other than that, I haven't the slightest idea without photos of the inside.

    Um.... redial?

    Do I win?

Sometimes a redial is needed. This watch could be so very nice if that dial was reworked nicely. And the damage has been done so why not make the best of it! Save grandad's watch and enjoy a bit of family heritage.

At this point if you wish to know more you have to let us see inside of the watch as was stated.
