Comic books, Magic the Gathering Cards and hardcover books I’ve enjoyed. I have a few original movie posters (Indiana Jones) framed up like this,

Circa 68-69 gift

THE DUKE! big time flashback to street football. That thing would spiral like crazy. I was always throwing 5 feet behind the guy going out but it sure looked good.

Sweet memories.

Actually, on the subject of Legos, I do still have all my old Lego.

Especially this one which, whilst not the oldest set I own, is one of the earliest I remember receiving at Christmas as a small boy. I remember asking for it as the light and sound kits were such a departure from the usual stuff.

It must be nearly 35 years old now, complete, and still in working order.

1934 RCA Model 224. We brought it back from my grandparent's house and my dad let me fix it when I was about 12 years old! It lived in my bedroom back then and it's in my living room now. I bought an AM transmitter that I can stream to so I can listen to vintage songs and radio shows on it.

Early 1960’s, my first “real sized” football.

Iconic photo late in YA's career.

A comment from another discussion thread prompted the idea for this thread.

What item or items have you held onto since childhood - I am assuming as collectors of watches that the bug goes back some way.

To kick it off.

In the late 50s and early 60s Donald Campbell was a living legend, a hero, and bigger in my eyes than any of the Beatles could ever be. I would devour any Boys Own Annuals or seek articles that had his magic name in print. In the early 1960s (possibly late 1963) I picked up this Proteus Bluebird toy from our local BP fuel station that had the Bluebird on display for a week while on an Australian cities tour. I can't be sure if it was before or after rain washed out Lake Eyre, South Australia in May 1963 (after being dry for twenty years). I probably paid about a shilling from my newspaper round money. I know that my old man had to top up the tank of his '57 Ford Zephyr as a condition of sale. I don't think he was too happy about that from memory. I didn't care as I had what I wanted - a plastic replica of the Bluebird and most importantly (and sneakily) I got to touch the real thing.

Will I ever sell it? Nope. Nix. Nada. Oxi. Nee. Tidak. Nej. Not ever.

Over to you...photos please 😀 🍿

His father's(Malcolm Campbell) Original Bluebird from 1933 is here in Daytona Beach. 36.7 liter V12 with 2,300HP. Went 272MPH here on the beach sand. 90 years ago. Amazing! The biggest problem was wheelspin, and they estimate about 50mph was lost due to this. He later went out to the Bonneville Salt Flats and did 301mph. Again the problem was wheelspin.....

Below is a pic from the Motorsports Hall of Fame Museum at the International Speedway here in Daytona. And an original pic from his speed run at the beach.

Not so much collected as kept, i.e. what the hell am i going to do with this....

Big time Marvel comics nerd. Wish I still had those. Could have traded for a few CKs.

Plus this hat with pins...

I have a number of items in 'store' due to be saved / rebuilt but they never make to the top of the list / watches always win. I have some rare 60/70s Action Man (GI Joe to some) which I do plan to catalogue at some point... and a first edition Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep from school which seems prescient these days. I am jealous of your dinky 434 crash truck. I am sure I have one in a very poor state. I did get a new top section for my Matchbox Land Rover 12 a while back... but there is a way to go on that as well :0) I think I hoard too much (2000AD comics / Commando books...cats)

Scars.

Both large and small.

Don't worry, I'm not posting any pics.

80's baby here, this thread is awesome!
For me, comic books and comic cards (Marvel, Image, and a smattering of DC), baseball cards, and toys (TMNT, Star Wars, etc.).
I'll post some pics later.
