This project started years ago, even before I got my first Zenith. I was fascinated by the watch on the title of Mr. Rössler's Zenith bible, the ref. A3818.

Only recently I was able to purchase this watch:

Though, the case needs edges, bevels, and brushes. But you certainly detected that the main hands are wrong. I was promised a NOS hand set but had to realize that it is incomplete, needles only.

To complete this project I'm desperately searching for a ref. A386 with A3818 hands :). Seriously, I would accept a pair of correct main hands, too.
Please make my dream come true ::love::. And I promise to accept dibs for the A386 hands ;).

    Cheers,

    Mick

Connie on the left has a damaged original crown. This type of 10sided crown (other than the thicker crown for the ref. 2852/2853sc on the right) isn't easily found. Today I found one that might fit. Hopefully the gold color will match the 14k case.

I've got a Seiko diver that I started on a while ago, but now that I'm retired I hardly have time to do anything!

About ready to pull disassemble and reassemble (hopefully, he says) this SNK805 (Cal. 7s26) with some help from others who have done this.

Yep. I will have to be careful because I don't think the complete assembly lessons are there. I have decided to buy a number of daily medicine dispensers and store the parts in the respective order removed. The intention being to maintain a semblance of order for my first project like this. BTW, congrats on your recent retirement and all the best wishes to you. Enjoy!

If you follow the tutorial you should have no problem getting it all back together.

Have you got the 7s26 document? It's a great help when figuring out where all of the bits go. :D

It might be an idea to get a couple of old Seiko beaters with similar movements to familiarise yourself with before you're confident enough to tackle your SNK805.

There's also a Yahoo group but I haven't touched base there for some time.

Good luck with it, PM me if you run into problems.

    Cheers

    Jim

I don't think so. Can you tell me what doc that is. I do have Tech Guide and Spec Catalogue Pdf.

They're on there way now from eBay. Can't wait.

Recently joined up and following it closely.
