A friend of me. Fell in love with a Heuer 1550SG “Bundeswehr” Chronograph. And is seriously thinking of buying the next watch.
But I have a few concerns.

One is the fact the caseback looks like it has seen a grinder. My main thougth is what does someone have to hide?

The crystal has a lot of clearance from the bezel. Is this a correct crystal?

Is the crown original? It is unmarked.

The movement seems to have no Heuer logo or other distinctive inscription. I do not know if it should.

The rest seems legit to me.
But I have absolutely no significant knowledge of vintage Heuer, and I hope to find an experts opinion on this particular watch.
Now the pictures:

I'd say wrong crystal. The crown doesn't look right to me but I'm not 100% sure. Also, the top of the lugs look shiny/polished. They should be "matte/sandblasted" like the rest of the case. I hope this helps. Best, Yuriae/Marc.

@STANDY Thank you I wasn’t aware of Calibre 11 forum. I have registered right away and posted the thread there also.

@Yuriae thanks for sharing my concerns about the crystal and crown. and pointing me on the finishing of the lugs.

Agree with Yuriae, the replacement high dome crystal is not correct for Bund. The crown could be replacement , appears to be thicker, smaller diameter with different finish. Not sure why the caseback engraving ( if there is any ) is removed.
The dial, hands, bezel and mid case look fine.

Strange cristal and wrong crown, the case has lost its facets and the patina doesn't match between the hands or the dial.
The erased number on the back isn't something that should scare you, but it's a negative as far as value is concerned.
It's not an ugly watch, but there are many better ones for sale
Either it is really cheap <2.5k maybe either I would say it's not worth it...

@jaspert thank you for sharing your beauty.

@MaiLollo thank you for your info are you speaking $or€? The asking price is little above your number in Euro.
I was talking euros, but its a very gross number.
If you get the watch knowing the issues it has, and you understand that it could take longer to eventually sell in the future, then you're OK!
You'll pay less and get a non-collector grade watch, if you're OK with it then buy it and enjoy the heck out of it. I bought a great example for a great price but with a service case. More than a year afterwards, I wanted to sell the watch at a good price, and although I did, it has been quite difficult. I won't compromise quality in the future unless I know I'll be keeping it ad vita eternam.
