    Hi,
It all seems OK. The "L&K" on the caseback shows that this is a US-cased watch - Norman Morris, the importer, brought in the swiss-made movements, and then got the case & dial made in the US. THis was done to avoid the exessive import duties that the US (and other places) had on complete watches. Norman Morris made all sorts of different, unique case designed that are not replicated in the swiss-made omega line-up.

Norman Morris didn't make this - L & K stands for Lutringer & Kammerer of NY. Norman Morris was the import agent for Omega.

Thank you for the information, very interesting stuff. A few questions....

    - What "model" watch is this? as their is no direct labeling on it, I don't know.

    - What movement does this have? I don't see the 3 digits on the movement that I generally look for, unless its hidden.

    - Thoughts on this watch being my first vintage watch? What is the max $$ you would say one should spend for it in its current condition?

It is model 10123 - you can see the number in the final photo of the inside caseback. That doesn't really mean much , given it is a US cased watch. Omega Switzerland didn't keep close records of all if the cases Norman Morris HAD produced (by others!)

I don't recognise this calibre. These rectangular movements had the caliber under the balance wheel (I think). It could be an R17.8 [IMG] or

Price? Don't know, but not more than a couple of hundred:
    - US cased watches not worth as much as Swiss
    - gold filled watches not particularly popular
    - personal engraving reduces value
