    It's called a regulator. Don't know why they make them, but some people like that design.

    Just to clarify. This is an omega fantasy. Omega never made a regulateur watch even in a pocket watch.

    I've never had the pleasure taking one apart. I wouldn't imagine it would be terribly hard to drive the minutes off a fabricated cog. As many of these junk pieces that I've seen there is probably a conversion kit available in every Ukraine watchmakers shop.
