What is this symbol on some Omega boxes?

Can someone add some light to the meaning of the #3 on the white Omega outer box - I have it on some boxes dating back to 2007 as well. I am assuming it's not a warranty designation as this particular one appears on the box of the new SM 300 with 4 year warranty. Curious.

Box type. Should correspond to the code on the pictogram card that came with your watch.

I thought it was the number of cards in the box.

I'm fully ok being wrong.

I agree it is the box type. 3 is for the red box and 6 is the wooden one.

The number should also appear on the pictogram card.

I always thought It designated which version of the instruction manual the watch came with. But having taken a closer look it does show an open box with the 3 sitting in it.
