What is this sub dial hand for

    This is part of my "what hand is this" series, hopefully I'm not boring everyone. lol.
    Anyhow this little subdial hand was in a dis-assembled UG Tri cal 287. At first glance I thought, sweet, those little buggers are impossible to find. On closer inspection I see it has a tail. :(
    So I'm assuming its not UG, and probably impossible to know what it's for?

    cut the tail and you have a UG subdial hand ;)
