This is Doug, I am new to Omega and new to this forum. Any help would be appreciated !

I am considering this watch. It LOOKS like an older Seamaster Cosmic, but does not have the markings as such. What might it be and is it a REAL Omega ?

I do not have any pictures of the movement.

I hate to start my collection with a mistake !

    Thanks Much !

Yes, its real, no its not a COSMIC.

    Looks like a reference 166.0140, caliber 750/752.

Ditch the stretchie and get a nice leather strap.

Experienced collectors will sometimes take calculated risks, but if it's so important to you not to make a mistake, then you should get photos of the movement and the inside of the case-back to be sure that you don't have any unpleasant surprises.

Its very nice though, are the lugs 18mm? or 19mm. The tuxedo type dial is quite common on the Seamaster Cosmic, in my view one of Omega's finest designs
