Scrolling through the junk watches on ebay and I noticed this. Looks like a 214 Accutron Railroad but has a stem on the case. WTH? What would this crown do? Ever buy something just to see what is going on with it?

An Accutron movement put into a standard Bulova case, I reckon. All the crown would achieve is to plug the hole in the case. Either that, or someone has removed the 214 setting components from the inner case back, and fitted a non-calendar 218 model movement. The case back is marked with the 1973 code. I’d have thought that Bulova was no longer making the 214 model, that late!

I don't see why it couldn't be the other way around. Perhaps a quartz movement fitted to an Accutron case?

It's a back-set 214 case back. I HAS to be an "M".
Now that I look at it over and over, I'm not sure. 😵‍💫
