Oh, I hope so! But imagine if you could make a decent living as a "watch agent" ... fun times!

$300 a month to tell people what to think! What a gig.

I know it's a joke but it could be a steal for a busy professional like a lawyer, doctor, consultants, etc that charges per hour. They could easily recoup this investment in just a few months by the amount of hours saved.

Imo, something like this could actually work, but ideally on a comissiom basis and not a monthly recurring service.

Don't laugh - there are people who really do just what the article says: hunt for watches for idiots with too much money and little experience.

Personally, I think the learning and hunting are the best part of collecting. Without that aspect, it would be a boring object that somebody else earned.

It’s funny but there are actual watch agents out there.

    I completely agree with that.
The article states" In short, aBlogtoWatch Plus is about eliminating much of the time and effort required to discover, learn about, and buy watches."
I thought that was 95% of the enjoyment in watch collecting? Discover, learn then finally track down that elusive watch. Why pay someone else to have all the fun?

There is a member here who used to vet possible purchases by his ‘watch agent’ here first ... mostly pretty high end stuff, always terrible photos from what I recall. He was roundly derided, and in the end stopped saying ‘my agent has found this...’ before every request. It does prove there is a market for the service I suppose, even for ‘agents’ that do not appear too professional

You might as well pay them to have sex for you too...and not even get to [watch].

I run this service for people already but for cars. Its simple and can be explained properly like this....

If a guy is cash rich and time poor, i.e too busy working or doesn't want to be seen buying his next super car for example, he reaches out to a broker like my self. All I do is look or order his specific car in terms of spec or get as close as possible to it if the car is no longer made.

I tell him the price, he sends me the cash once a deal is agreed, I send cash to the dealer, the car is registered in his name, it is then delivered to his door, office or wherever he wants it, that includes international delivery.

I do the same for watches and have supplied plenty this way!

Literally hundreds of listings and pictures. I might have paid off my mortgage by now! ::rant:

Ahhh excuse the milage Mr A... User testing is responsible for that, oh and thats an extra £2k please!
