What is the specific function of this Omega “pad” included with my recently purchased 105.003?

Too bad you got a knock-off pillow. I bet if you'd kept it for a few decades, there would be variations of pillows, and IF yours was legit, it might have been the DON of pillows. But...

I thought that was its own widdle pillow you bought for it to sweep on. Just slightly off topic: Someone told me this is you on the left when you modeled for J.C. Penney. I said it wasn't because that kid has no bow tie.

And thanks for the huge red arrow pointing at the pillow.

You're not missing anything. It's weird.

And Nathan, how could you have NOT seen it. I feel like I've seen his echo whiskey more than my own watches. 😉
Thanks for posting the EW @Mad Dog ......super cool!
@Swissmister you’re right! I just had a look at WRUW for the first time in ages.......it’s wall to wall Mad Dog’s EW over there

Exactly. I know the Seiko guys haven't had any luck getting a sub forum, but maybe MD would have more luck getting one for the EW.

This Omega “pad” was included with my recently purchased 105.003 1964 birth year “Echo Whiskey”...and I was wondering what the specific function is regarding this “pad”.

Thank you in advance for any information. 👍

The pad serves two functions: (1) You can use it to wipe the crystal clean if you get greasy finger print smudges on it (especially when you put it on your wrist in the morning) and (2) If you store the watch in something other than the box (for example, a little travel pouch) you should insert the pad in between the locked/closed bracelet so that the bracelet does not scratch the case back when being stored and especially if you toss the watch in a fob while in transit when traveling and you're wearing a different timepiece. Omega offers a lovely cloth pad for this purpose whereas lesser brands will supply a little card (kind of like a business card) bearing the watch brand name to insert into the locked bracelet --- again to prevent the bracelet from scratching the case back.

Exactly, except it's MD in the driver's seat and EW on it's little pillow in the passenger seat instead of Belushi. I have to go watch the movie. It's easy to forget all the great cast members and musical numbers. Carrie Fisher with a machine gun? Aretha? Ray Charles as the music store owner.

"It'll run on regular gas." When was the last time anyone here saw regular? I think I was in FL in the mid late 80s driving a Datsun 280Z. It was a sad day when I could no longer buy regular.

The pad came to me with the watch, box, and warranty. I'm not sure why anyone would knock off a pad - adds nothing to the value.

Can anyone definitively say that it is or is not Omega ephemera? I’m not convinced one way or the other and....

@Mad Dog and I simply must know! 🍿

Not quite the same but I also got one of these with a set.. mine is much less pad-like and more wipe-like though.

Yep. There it is. And is that a Dunkin Donuts air freshener? Is it coffee scented? I keep forgetting it's just "Dunkin" now.

...And is that a Dunkin’ Donuts air freshener?
Negatory...it’s a Dunkin’ Donuts hot cup Christmas tree ornament. I use it to hold the cigarette lighter in my 2007 Ford Police Interceptor...and for the record, the cigarette lighter works...unlike the cigarette lighter in the 1974 Dodge Monaco from the Blues Brothers...typical MOPAR. 😁

That's the beauty of it. It will work if it's a knock off and it will work even if you don't use it. Plus, it's brand-friendly -- you can use it for any brand of watch -- as long as it's Swatch owned -- in which case your timepiece will most likely suffer a horrible, irreparable malfunction.
