Hi there,
I’m concerning the material and value of this watch, which is my grandma’s vintage watch. Thank you for your guidance if someone would answer.
Best,

It says 18k gold and the value is basically that of the gold. Ladies watches like this are unfortunately not very desirable to collectors And gold is very high at the moment.

The timekeeping part of this watch is the mechanism. The rest of it is jewellery. This is a job for a gem lab.

I’d have this appraised as jewelry…as Dan S said the gold value is all we watch collectors would care about. Collectors of antique jewelry would be the right audience. Interesting piece.

Not to forget to check the stones - if they were diamonds this would be an additional worth factor to be considered...

I think those are almost certainly diamonds.
You need a jeweller to appraise that. The gold's value is determined by purity (18K) and weight. The diamonds by colour, cut, clarity and carats.
Even if someone here had the experience to give you a valuation, they would be unable to do so without examining the diamonds using a loupe.

The diamonds are real and there are quite a number of them. However. They are med. small to very small. Hard to tell size of diamonds. Larger could be .25 carat. .25 is 4mm wide. I’m sure they are nice quality, but overall. This was sold more as a diamond and gold bracelet piece vs. an actual watch even though it is.

You could get it appraised by a gemologist and insured for replacement value, but you would never get that price on resale.

If you’re selling. Most likely buyer would be a woman for a jewelry piece, but few and far between.

Shop it around at decent jewelry stores after the appraisal or eBay no reserve and take your chances

If you contemplate offering the watch with no reserve, you could well end up selling it for less than what a scrapper might offer you. If you are desperate to sell, maybe find out what a scrapper would offer, then aim at selling it for more than a scrapper price. Otherwise, find someone in the family that might appreciate it.
