I just got my first Omega from a reputable seller in Japan that I know some of you have bought from. Anyway, after about an hour I noticed this film that was on the crystal. I tried to wipe it off but it does not come off. Any idea what this is? I think you can see it OK in the photos. Any help would be appreciated.

Try using eyeglass cleaner or 99% alcohol - sometimes the smudges are a bear to remove.

If it still looks the same, then I'm going to say it's the AR coating that has partially been worn off, and what you are seeing is the area that is still left. I actually think that is what you are seeing, but try the cleaners anyway just to be sure...

    Cheers, Al

Thanks Al! I used some "polywatch" and with some scrubbing it came right off.

It's called "schmutz". ;) As in.....

Grandma: "Oy, you've got some schumtz on your face!"
You: "Please pass me a napkin bubbie."
