Here is another 2572 for reference. Interestingly, its "E" is also wonky/faded.

I noticed that too in that particular 2572. To my untrained eye my watch doesn't appear like a redial. Perhaps the enamel wore off and maybe someone retouched it? Hence I seek the opinion of the experts.

 

I agree with you, the dial does not look redone but rather retouched. This would make sense given this dials' apparent propensity for fading in that region.

 

If that's the case, then how would that affect value?
