I don't want to sell the Watch here , maybe private in Germany or via Ebay.

So, you are asking the potential buyers of your watch how to maximize the price?

Forgive us if we are not falling over ourselves to help!

Even so, you have received much clear and good advice. We are a tolerant lot....up to a point!

Auctions have expenses - but occasionally they match two buyers for the same watch who fight hard and are prepared to pay ahead of the market in the hope that it will catch up.

I feel we are in a "cruise" market at the moment, with prices leveling, albeit at a higher level than last year. Where they will be in a year is anyone's guess.

Here you will find honest buyers for honest watches and honest sellers, and sales are in my experience fast and trouble free. How does that compare to ebay on a $10,000 sale? Or sell a watch at Christies for $10,000 (net to buyer) and you get about $7,000. (Roughly - I am sure a fellow Anorak can work it out exactly)

WHY NOT sell it here??? That would be the best, fastest, easiest and most convenient way...

Do you know how much eBay charges??? Especially for items in such a high price range?

The watch itself is pretty neat i's say. Correct parts everywhere, as far as i can tell. Even the original vintage crown, nice.

Check Spacefruits website speedmaster101.com for more Info.

    Good luck selling it --

Good luck selling it on eBay.

Personally I would avoid that route as the plague. Remember, ALL the risk is on you as seller. I sold a Speedy on eBay and ended up loosing the watch AND 15% fees to eBay/ Paypal. Never again I say.

I wouldn't look to eBay for a purchase like this.

Nice looking speedy, OP. Good luck selling it! Your watch is on my list!

£0.09 insertion (0.99p sale) 10% up to a value of £50 and 3.5% paypal fee if it was £10,000 thats £9599.91
as opposed to lets say christie's 27% sellers premium plus an insertion fee? your looking at £7200 (ish)
    i vote the Bay

if you dont accept PayPal you will have a hard time selling this watch as most will treat you with outright suspicion including me! you are happy with your item so why not accept a paypal payment? PayPal are not IDIOTS and will not let you get scammed so readily

If its a cash sale you really NEED your limiting your market. A LOT especially if you want the best price to achieve the best possible price you need to sell to the end consumer. how many can you advertise to that ARE end consumers? not many i reckon...

your more likely to need to broaden your "catchment" to include a cash offering from a dealer (like me) but we need to make profits AND pay vat etc etc.

maybe you should reconsider your stance on pay pal?
