I am looking to purchase a pre owned seamster 300 spectre edition. The seller is asking 6500 USD,is that a fair price?

 

I think it depends on the condition, but that is low for a mint condition example.

It seemed fair to me as I almost took a shot at it. To be perfectly honest, these new additions really scare me.

If they appeal to you, as this one did for me, I think that patience will pay off in a year or so

I like the watch but what bothers me is that for some reason alot of omegas don't hold their value. I pulled the trigger on this one despite my concerns,i just love the watch.

 

Well, enjoy it in good health. I think when it comes to the value of watches and what the prices do with various models, it's really difficult to figure out. It seems that exclusivity is (almost) always a plus, but you never know. And for some reason certain watches just take off for reasons that are unclear. I think the best policy is never buy for investment value; buy for what you want on your wrist. If it goes up, that's great, but don't count on it. But if you really like the watch, it really does't matter a increase in value is just icing on the cake.

No one ever agreed tp sell me one for $6500, so either prices have gone down or I am a lousy negotiator.

That said, the main reason I wanted one was that I needed the 12hr bezel. I instead got myself a Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue and the itch was scratched at a fraction of the price.

Too late! Got my 12-hour bezel watch already.

The funny thing was, I thought it was fake when the bezel turned in 48 clicks. Then I realized, 48 clicks is 15 minute increments on a 12 hour bezel. D'oh.

 

reasonable price - i wouldnt go the spectre limited edition tho, a little bit tacky IMO >_> just go the normal version!

Well I received the watch and it came with all the bells and whistles but it turned out to be a replica and not a very good one. Now the seller won't respond to any emails
