What a terrible title, I know.

So, getting into bed last night, do my obligatory quick check on eBay on my iphone and came across what I thought was a great bargain....
- bumper
- subsecond
- white waffle dial
- great BIN

So, I had a very quick read of the description, learned it was "golf filled" and working fine, so quickly pressed the BIN and completed the purchase before MrsCanberra got back. Get to work this morning and look at it on a full size screen and quickly realise its a redial





Movement looks good though:

 

No whisky influence?

 

can't blame it on that, unfortunately.

 

I am really gratified to see experienced hands occasionally make the sort of errors us rookies do.

 

Worse things have happened, surely

Poor lighting on iPhone, blame the phone. Not the impulse buying.

Maybe not, could be a case of:

"Phew, great to see I'm not the only one whose done this!"

The case looks ok. Might be a nice project if you could find the right dial.

 

Hmmm.... what gives it away that it is a redial? Trying to learn a thing or two here...

 

I got it from the minute marks at 12 from the first picture. Also, there seems to be a gap between the dial and the case.

 

Were you able to get out of the purchase? amicably.

 

Absolutely not! Just tells me that it really ain't easy.

 

Look at the "Omega" and "Automatic" text carefully.

 

Right... and also what Difeer mentioned on the minute marks. The devil is really in the details....

 

And the lack of "SWISS MADE"
