I had this crazy idea that I would be able to straight swap a vintage guitar for a '71 speedmaster... alas it hasn't happened yet.

So it got me thinking- what's the funniest, craziest thing you've swapped or traded for to get 'that' watch??

Well, I see a lot of members trying to swap their wives for watches. They aren't even coy about it - says so right in the title of their threads:

"Watch for wife".

Well, I sold a boat and a truck to by an AP ROO many moon ago.

Usually just sell other watches when I need to shake the money tree...

 

Hey , Can I take a guess on the name of that vintage guitar ? I love watching Pawn Stars on History Channel so I'm guessing that's a Gibson Les Paul Custom 1971 Vintage perhaps a cherry sunburst or maple coloured body [emoji3] . That would be a 1st in this colour

 

That particular guitar would be worth more than a measly '71 Speedmaster.

I was, in another lifetime. Sold my Harmony acoustic and Charvel (yes, one of those Hair Band specials) years ago.

 

Yep I hear you man... I'm getting older (still very young). No longer play, need to move the collection on to make way for other hobbies like, er, I guess Speedies

 

Some busted up knuckles did me in. Besides, who wants to see some 50 year old bald dude slinging a Slime Green single pickup around?
