Hi there, I'm not just a noob here, but a noob on watches in general. I've got a couple of watches here, that perhaps ya'll might know a little something about. The first one is a Seamaster that was bought for me before I was born, so that was 50 yrs. ago. It was "lost" in the house, and has not seen the light of day for at least 40 yrs. I wound it some, and it keeps perfect time. It appears to have ? gold ? accents, not a mark or scratch on the ?crystal? If you look at it at certain angles, you just can see " something" on the white part of the face- aging of the paint?? The back shows very little wear, and I'm sure the strap is non-original. The second one is a ?chronometer? that was found inside a sofa when it was being re-upholstered probably 20 yrs. ago. It does not work, appears to have gold hands, has scratches on the crystal, and the back cover has either worn through, or cracked around the circumference. The case appears to be silver and has a .800 on the inside. I have lots of pictures, and here are a few. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I promise NOT to sing or dance at your wedding thanks, Henry
I agree with your assessment, that is a vintage Omega watch, mid 1950's from the hook "S" and drop "r" in Seamaster. More pictures, in and out= more information.
Here you go.... I haven't attempted to take them any where to have the watch opened- not sure who to take to down here in Northern Cuba, I mean S. Fla.
Regarding the pocket watch: google "24 hour pocket watch omega" and find pics of similar exaples. Interesting watch!
